Crypto exchange OKX, in partnership with Manchester City, has unveiled the ‘Unseen City Shirts’ campaign, presenting re-designed commemorative football shirts that fans worldwide can mint as digital collectibles (NFTs) on the OKX app. These digital collectibles offer fans the chance to redeem exclusive prizes and engage with the beloved football club in innovative ways.
As the Official Sleeve Partner of Manchester City, OKX has launched the first of two ‘Unseen City Shirts’ digital collectibles, titled ‘The Roses and the Bees,’ crafted by artist Christian Jeffery. This design pays homage to Manchester’s rich heritage, incorporating iconic symbols such as the Lancashire Rose and the Manchester Worker Bee.
Starting from now until April 25, fans can mint their own ‘Unseen City Shirts’ digital collectible on the OKX Web3 Marketplace within the app. Each collectible minted will be randomly assigned a rarity level – Classic, Rare, or Ultra Rare.
Depending on the rarity of the digital collectible, fans stand a chance to win exclusive prizes, including limited-edition physical versions of the specially designed football shirt, hospitality tickets to a Manchester City match, and even a play-on-pitch experience.
Haider Rafique, Chief Marketing Officer of OKX, expressed enthusiasm about the campaign, stating, “As an official partner of Manchester City since 2022, we want to capture the imagination and incite the passions of the Club’s global fans, many of whom are curious about the value that Web3 can bring to their lives. The ‘Unseen City Shirts’ campaign allows us to engage them in an authentic way that is true to OKX’s values, taking something familiar and reimagining it with the help of creativity, technology, and innovation.”
Nuria Tarré, Chief Marketing & Fan Experience Officer of City Football Group, emphasized Manchester City’s commitment to innovation and fan engagement, stating, “Manchester City are continually exploring new and unique ways to engage with our global fan base and aim to be at the forefront of the use of emerging technology to enhance fan experience. By collaborating with OKX, we continue to deliver unique, creative, and innovative activations; we hope our fans enjoy this latest installment with OKX.”
The partnership between OKX and Manchester City, which began in March 2022, has introduced the brand to millions of football fans worldwide through innovative Web3 experiences. Through initiatives like the OKX Collective and the ‘my fabric’ episodic campaign featuring Manchester City’s OKX global brand ambassadors, the partnership continues to drive engagement and innovation in the sports industry.
