The groundbreaking NFT collection, CryptoPunks, unveiled its latest project – Super Punk World. This digital avatar collection is curated by acclaimed artist Nina Chanel Abney.
“The collection utilizes 3D to reimagine how viewers experience Abney’s art through the Punk lens,” CryptoPunks announced on X.
Abney, a New York-based painter brings her unique vision to the CryptoPunks universe. The 500-piece collection draws inspiration from both the iconic traits of CryptoPunk characters and Abney’s own “Super Cool World” NFT collection.
This collaboration marks a first for CryptoPunks’ “Punk in Residence” program, launched earlier this year. The program explores the concept of “Punk” through the lens of various artists. Abney, the inaugural artist, received Punk #72 NFT to fuel her creative process.
“Super Punk World” will be exhibited alongside Abney’s latest works at the Jack Shainman Gallery in Kinderhook, New York, running from May 18 to October 5, 2024.
This collaboration is expected to further elevate the profile of the CryptoPunks collection, which has already garnered significant attention. Recent months have seen record-breaking sales, with Alien Punks #3100 and #7804 fetching over $16 million each. Additionally, CryptoPunks NFT #635 sold for over $12 million in April, solidifying its place among the collection’s top sales.
