Aligned Layer, a project aiming to become the “universal verification layer for Ethereum,” has secured $2.6 million in seed funding. This funding round positions them to make a significant impact on Ethereum’s scalability.
“We’re excited to announce that we’ve raised $2.6M in our Seed Round, led by @Lemniscap, to enable developers to access affordable and fast proof verification for all proof systems,” Aligned Layer said in a statement on X.
Lemniscap, a well-established venture capital firm in the cryptocurrency and blockchain space, led the investment round. Other participants included Bankless Ventures, Paper Ventures, and prominent industry figures.
Aligned Layer’s solution focuses on creating a decentralized verification layer for Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZK Proofs) specifically for Ethereum. This technology leverages Eigen Layer’s restaking mechanism, allowing Ethereum stakers to optimize protocol security by strategically allocating their ETH and Liquid Staking Tokens.
The funding will fuel Aligned Layer’s mainnet launch targeted for Q2 2024 and fuel their operational expansion. As an infrastructure provider, their goal is to empower developers by reducing costs and enhancing speeds for Ethereum-based applications, including layer-2 solutions.
This successful seed round demonstrates the confidence investors have in Aligned Layer’s ability to revolutionize Ethereum’s scalability. With their innovative approach and strong backing, they are well-positioned to make a significant contribution to the future of Ethereum.
