Bitcoin ETFs Extend Inflow Streak to $626M in 3 Days
- US spot Bitcoin ETFs have pulled in $626 million over three straight sessions.
- BlackRock’s IBIT alone accounted for $479 million of that total.
- The streak follows a brutal $265 million single-day outflow just a week ago.
US spot Bitcoin ETFs have taken in $626 million over three consecutive trading days, according to SoSoValue data, as institutional buyers keep returning to the funds despite a shaky month for the wider market.
BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust led the run, pulling in $479 million across the three sessions and pushing its cumulative inflows toward $61 billion, per Farside Investors. Bitcoin for a short while touched $64,920 on Wednesday before settling near $64,744.
Bitcoin ETF Flows Reverse Sharply After Last Week’s Outflows
Just days earlier, the picture looked very different. On July 31, the same funds shed $265.4 million in one of their worst outflow days of the year, with IBIT, Fidelity’s FBTC, and Grayscale’s GBTC all posting redemptions on the same session. The turnaround since then has been broad rather than concentrated in one fund.
On August 3 alone, seven of twelve listed Bitcoin ETFs drew fresh cash, with IBIT supplying about two-thirds of that day’s $170 million and the rest spread across Fidelity, Franklin, Invesco, and VanEck’s products.
That breadth matters more than the headline number. A rebound built on a single issuer tends to be more fragile than one where smaller funds are also participating, since it suggests demand isn’t dependent on one allocator’s mood.
Spot Ether ETFs have moved in step, pulling in $60.9 million on their second straight day of inflows for a two-day total near $114.6 million. XRP and Solana funds showed more mixed activity over the same stretch, with neither posting the kind of consistent daily gains Bitcoin and Ether products have managed.
Why Strong ETF Demand Has Not Fully Lifted Market Sentiment
The Crypto Fear and Greed Index still reads 25, deep in “Extreme Fear” territory, barely up from 27 the day before. That gap between rising ETF demand and a fearful broader market is the detail worth watching.
Institutional buyers appear willing to add exposure through regulated products even while retail sentiment stays cautious, a split that has shown up repeatedly this year and tends to precede either a genuine trend change or a quick reversal once one side catches up to the other.
Whether the streak extends into a fourth and fifth session will say more about durability than any single day’s number. A concentration this heavy in one fund, IBIT, has previously reversed quickly once BlackRock’s own allocation needs shifted, so a broader spread across issuers over the next week would be the stronger signal.
