Cardano SuperTrend Turns Bullish as ADA Reclaims $0.18

Cardano's daily SuperTrend indicator has flipped bullish as ADA reclaimed the $0.18 level, while traders watch whether the breakout can hold.

!Cardano's SuperTrend Indicator Flips Bullish at $0.18

  • Cardano’s price flipped its daily SuperTrend indicator from bearish to bullish as it pushed through the $0.18 resistance zone.
  • ADA printed a double bottom between $0.152 and $0.16 before the move, and its Stochastic RSI shows the token in deeply oversold territory.
  • Total value locked has fallen from above $100 million to about $18 million, even as the Van Rossem hard fork nears full rollout.

Cardano trades near $0.1843 as of this writing, according to Coinscipher’s live pricing. Up 0.80% over the past 24 hours despite a 4.70% decline over the past week. Such a short-term bounce comes as the token’s daily SuperTrend indicator, a tool that flags potential trend reversals, has flipped from red to green for the first time in weeks.

A Technical Setup Built on Oversold Conditions

ADA printed a double bottom on its daily chart between $0.152 and $0.16 before staging its recent recovery and it is now testing the $0.18 confluent resistance zone. The SuperTrend flip matters because the indicator only turns bullish once price closes above a calculated volatility band and traders read this as a signal that selling pressure has eased enough for buyers to regain short-term control.

The setup lines up with the token’s Stochastic Relative Strength Index, which has been hovering between roughly 21 and 4, deep oversold territory that suggests ADA has been trading below what recent momentum would justify. Historically, that combination, an oversold reading alongside a fresh trend reversal signal, is the kind of setup traders watch for a potential bounce, though neither indicator guarantees one will follow through.

This isn’t a story about Cardano breaking out. It’s about whether a technical bounce from oversold levels can hold once it runs into a resistance zone that has rejected previous attempts.

Network Activity Tells a More Mixed Story

Cardano’s on-chain picture complicates the bullish chart setup. The network’s total value locked has fallen from more than $100 million to roughly $18 million, according to DeFiLlama data, even as Cardano’s Layer 1 developers completed the Van Rossem hard fork last month. Intersect, the organization coordinating the upgrade, reported the network had reached 93% block production on the new node version and 84% exchange readiness by liquidity ahead of the fork’s activation, with its working group voting to formally recommend ratification.

Despite that technical progress, the TVL decline suggests the upgrade has not yet translated into renewed DeFi activity on the network. One bright spot has been Cardano’s Midnight side chain, which combines privacy features with regulatory compliance tools, an approach aimed at institutions that need to conceal sensitive transaction data while operating under multiple licensing regimes. Growth in stablecoin activity tied to Midnight has been a rare area of expansion even as the broader TVL figure has slid.

Cardano’s price also remains closely correlated with Bitcoin on shorter timeframes, and whale wallets have continued taking profits on one and four-hour charts even as the daily trend has turned more constructive. Whether the SuperTrend flip marks a genuine shift or another false start inside a longer downtrend will likely depend on whether ADA can hold above $0.18 in the sessions ahead.
